3D Character, real-time animated male 3d model for an online game

We present you our experience in creating a 3d model of the main game character for an online game. Full cycle of character creation from high-poly model to low-poly and texturing.

The main character (Player Character, user-controlled) for the classic third-person RPG “After Reset”. We also 3d-modeled several options for clothes for a 3d character, as well as a variant of futuristic body armor. Yes, the body armor suit model was copied with minor changes from the body armor of the Mass Effect character, but, unfortunately, this was the wish of the customer.

We developed 3D models from scratch according to sketches and based on the wishes of the customer for export to the Unity 3D game engine. The polycount of the models is about 7 thousand triangles. The original textures are 4096 px squares, Diffuse, Specular and Normal Bump.

What was done: sculpting the base character, two sets of clothes and one body armor suit, low poly, texturing, posing and real-time rendering in the Marmoset Toolbag.
