A silver relief sculpture of a lion’s head as a piece of jewelry. With the advancement of 3D printers and CNC machines, jewelers are increasingly using 3D printing and CNC carving technologies in their work. In this test, we present our new digital model as if it were cast in silver.
Customizing a jewelry 3D model.
While metal jewelry casting is still performed using lost-wax process, the introduction of digital 3D modeling into this process allows for easy editing, resizing or mirroring of the final 3D model. A CNC machine or 3D printer will reproduce these parts in the material required for the final metal casting. Then, using this blank, a metal jewelry piece will be cast, which will require polishing and finishing.

Thus, using a preliminary 3D visualization of the digital sculpture of the lioness and lion head relief, we can present to the client what the final product will look like. However, the tangible product will have its own unique features, as metal casting still involves significant manual labor by the master jeweler.
